Edith Adams Obituary

Edith Adams was born in Port of Spain Trinidad on August 8, 1937 to Evelyn Quamina and Henry Adams. She was the sixth of seven children.
In her younger years, Edith attended elementary school in Trinidad.   In the early 1960’s Edith embarked on her journey to the states seeking a better life and opportunities.

Edith worked long and hard in New York to fulfill her dreams.  She attended and graduated from La Roberts Beauty School in 1966.  All her hard work had paid off, in 1967, Edith opened her own beauty salon called Edith Fashion Wigs.  She was so successful that she opened a second location also in Brooklyn New York.

Later in life, Edith entered the medical field as a nurse’s aide in Prospect Hospital, and then transferred over to Long Island College Hospital where she was later promoted to the position of Unit Receptionist.

Edith brought her dream house in Queens, New York.  She spent most of her days dividing her time between her profession, raising a family, and decorating her dream home.  On the side, Edith was an excellent interior decorator which she proudly displayed in her home. This caught the attention of friends and family who hired her to decorate their own individual homes.

Edith was an avid gardener, she loved flowers which she displayed proudly in front, on the side, and the back of her home.  You would know which house was Edith’s immediately because it was the only one on the block that had a white wrought iron fence and beautiful flowers surrounding the entire house.

Edith was a woman of pure glamour, glitter and pizzazz.  Her style was unique right out of a Vogue Magazine.
Edith was a strong, beautiful and vibrant woman who demanded from friends and family only the best.

Edith touched many lives.  On February 7, 2023, Edith took her last breath and closed her eyes at 10:15 AM, God with his arms opened wide has called his child Edith to come, embrace, and stand beside him forever.

Edith leaves behind so many who loved her and will missed her
Including her four siblings and six children and their spouses.  She was also grandmother to nine grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Edith other relatives include cousins, nieces, nephews and many close friends.

Blessed are those who mourn for they shall be comforted!
