PATRICK E. GRANT Obituary

LIFE & LEGACY

Patrick Grant was born on January 7, 1971, in Trinidad, to the proud parents Agnes and Charles Grant. He was the youngest of nine children and was deeply loved by his family.

Patrick attended Our Lady of Laventille School and later completed his high school education at San Juan Senior Comprehensive School. He immigrated to the United States in 1990, settling in Harlem, New York, where he resided for most of his life.

A hardworking and determined man, Patrick initially operated his own floor care business, specializing in heavy-duty services such as stripping, waxing, buffing, and shampooing floors. Driven to broaden his opportunities, he later attended Ferrari Driving School in the Bronx and earned his Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) in New York State.

Patrick enjoyed playing soccer and consistently demonstrated a level of skill above that of the average player, a talent clearly recognized by those who observed him on the field.

Patrick worked as a professional driver for several major companies, including Amazon, Walmart, and J.B. Hunt, among others. After many years of traveling across multiple states, he chose to focus his work locally, serving the New York City community as a driver for Access-A-Ride and New York City school buses. Shortly before his passing, he was studying for an examination to become a bus operator for the Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA). This pursuit reflected his lifelong passion for vehicles, which began in early childhood through observing his older brothers, who were auto mechanics.

FAITH & FAMILY

Patrick was baptized as an Anglican Christian in his youth. His parents instilled in him a strong belief that God was in control of all things and that faith should remain steadfast regardless of life’s circumstances. This foundation guided Patrick throughout his life. In keeping with his faith and values, Patrick devoted himself to caring for his parents as they aged, remaining faithful and loving until their passing. His dedication to family was a true reflection of his character.

CHERISHED MEMORIES

Patrick touched many lives through his kindness, humility, and strong work ethic. He will be fondly remembered for his dedication, perseverance, and love for those around him.

He leaves behind his seven siblings—Wayne, Barry, Steve, Glenford, Mikey, Susan, and

Suzie—along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, friends, and coworkers who will miss him dearly. Though Patrick was taken from us too soon, his life, faith, and legacy will forever remain in our hearts.
