Rachel Perkins was born on September, 16 1963 in Bronx, New York to the late Robert and Ethel Pauley. She attended Stevenson High School and later continued her education at Drake Business School. She built a long and dedicated career with the Administration for Children’s Services, where she worked as a Senior Contract Officer for over 25 years. She was respected for her hard work, dedication and caring spirit.
In 1987, Rachel married the love of her life, the late Andrew Perkins. Together they built a loving home and raised three beloved children, Janay, Janell and Aaron. Her children and family were always her greatest priority. She gave endless love, support and encouragement to those around her.
Rachel loved creating memories with family and friends. She enjoyed line dancing with family, singing karaoke, cooking holiday meals and keeping family traditions alive. Her home was often filled with laughter, music and love. She also loved praise dancing with the church dance ministry, where she expressed her faith with joy and passion. Vacationing and taking cruises with loved ones was one of her favorite things to do. She enjoyed laughing, having a good time and bringing happiness to others. Her beautiful smile and infectious laugh could light up any room. Rachel had a special gift for making people feel welcomed and loved just as they were. She was truly an overall good soul with a beautiful spirit.
On May 16th 2026 the Lord called Rachel home. She leaves to cherish her memory her children, Janay, Janell and Aaron; her grandchildren, Zephaniah, Liam, Athena and A’Malie; her sister, Rose; her godchildren, Ajee and Olivia; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Rachel was a loving mother, grandmother and devoted family woman whose warmth and kindness touched everyone she met. She carried strength, grace and compassion throughout her life.
Rachel’s love, warmth and spirit will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
