Tanisha DeShawn Lipscomb was called home on March 24, 2022 at North Shore University Hospital (LIJ) in Manhasset, New York. Tanisha was the eldest of two children born to parents, William Lipscomb and Jacqueline Melrose on January 8, 1975 at Queens General Hospital Center. Shawn Lipscomb is the other child born during this union. Tanisha attended New York City Public Schools thus graduating from Martin Van Buren High School. Tanisha gave birth to her first child, Jacqueline Jones (named after her grandmother) on June 13, 2002. One day in 2006, Tanisha met the man that would become the love of her life and partner, Anthony Dillahunt. From this union, they had a daughter, Mikayla Dillahunt who was born in 2009. He had already gained a bonus daughter, Jacqueline Jones, once the relationship blossomed into a permanent one, one that would last the remainder of her life. Tanisha loved her family and was a good-hearted person who was a happy go lucky spirit. She loved being a mother to her daughters and was a stay-at-home mom, always involved in her children’s education, attending PTA meetings and the like. She always had a kind word for everyone who knew her. She was one of those people who possessed a huge loving spirit, that the void is already felt. Tanisha loved to travel and she was fortunate enough to have traveled to the Caribbean several times, most recently to Jamaica with Anthony and his family to celebrate his birthday. Over the past several years, Tanisha had begun to have seizures but she didn’t let it get the best of her. She remained positive and the seizures became a normalized process that her immediate household learned to assist her with. They all knew what to look for and when to call 911, even Mikayla knew. Everyone knew their role when the seizures occurred, and they remained strong and united in caring for her. She was never alone at home. Someone was always with her to ensure she would be safe if anything happened. She leaves to mourn her passing: her beautiful daughters, Jackie and Mikayla; her life partner, Anthony Dillahunt; siblings, Shawn Lipscomb, Wallace Lipscomb, Abel Lipscomb, Anthony Lipscomb, Patricia Lipscomb and Felicia Brodie; aunts, Deborah Melrose, Lisa Marie Melrose, Lisa Glover-Logan; uncles, Jeffrey Melrose, Robert Melrose, Reginald Melrose and Randy Logan; Anthony’s devoted family: his parents, Mrs. Patricia Dillahunt, Mr. Dennis Dillahunt II and his siblings, Dennis III, Rhonda Coleman and Renee Dillahunt-McKenzie; she also leaves to mourn her passing, a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, other family and friends including her longest and dearest besties, Tawana Crawford and Zoraida Feliciano (they were the Three Amigos ). “She will forever be missed until we meet her again in the resurrection. You see, GOD promises us this and HE does not lie
