My first-cousin William Ottoman Moss was laid to rest on January 26, 2024.

A successful homegoing ceremony requires a considerable amount of time and effort. What the funeral attendees experience is the result of weeks of preparation.

Prior to passing, William told his mother that he wanted Ms. Jocelyn Lynn Whiting to handle his homegoing if anything should ever happen to him. She did not disappoint.
I applaud Ms. Whiting for her meticulous attention to detail and her ability to work with us remotely (I live in Atlanta) on all the details to lay my first cousin, William Moss, to rest.

Ms. Whiting is also compassionate and empathetic. For example, she lost a dear friend a couple of days before my cousin's funeral. Despite her own grief, Ms. Whiting continually made us feel like we were her only family though she was working with several families simultaneously. This level of personalization and professionalism is rare these days.

Perhaps the greatest testimonial came from my cousin's mother. She said, "It was perfect. She did a tremendous job on William removing all blemishes and scars from his face...he looked like he was sleeping. When the dust settles, I am going to write a letter to her personally about how much I appreciate her superior service."

I highly recommend Ms. Whiting and Levy & Delany to anyone needing assistance with a loved one's homegoing.

My family and I are forever grateful for Gary, and the Levy and Delany Funeral Home. A mere review is not sufficient enough of a way for us to express our gratitude.

Gary was with me every step of the way. From the moment I called him - this time to inform him that my grandfather had passed - all the way to my grandpa's interment. I had called a few moments before that same day to set up a time to speak the following day. My grandfather was still alive in those moments. I was still processing the shock of his passing and the irony of the timing.

The funeral, how my grandfather was dressed and embalmed - he looked great and at peace. For such a grievous occasion it gave us immeasurable comfort to see my grandfather in that way. Thank you. His dedication page on the site, the beautiful poem that was truly fitting, to adding the Yankee icon to his page. Thank you so much.

Thank you, Gary for your dedication, advice, care, and guidance. Many thanks to Levy and Delany for helping us give my Papa Mario a dignified service, mass, and interment. We were treated with such care, kindness, and compassion and provided with all that we needed. We felt like family, and we truly see Gary and Levy & Delany like a part of our family. Thank you truly and God bless you all.

After the recent death of my father, I was completely unsure of what to do. Enter Jocelyn Whiting of Levy & Delany Funeral Home. From the moment I called her, she was polite, patient, and professional with me. No question went unanswered, and no time was inconvenient. She provided me with a wealth of information that guided me on how to proceed, without trying to force me to do what was best for her bottom line. I was not treated like a client; I was treated like family. She made an incredibly difficult period much easier to handle, by taking care of many details that allowed us time to actually grieve for our beloved. For that, my family and I are forever grateful.

Thank you, Ms. Whiting and Levy & Delany!

Yesterday was the service for my cousin and everything was well done. This is the third time Levy & Delany has taken care of the funeral arrangements for a family member. They also did the arrangements for my uncle about 2 months ago and my grandmother during Covid. Everything was done with care and professionalism. Ms. Whiting knows her business and provides top notch customer service during this difficult time.

Our family had used the services of Levy & Delany for years by the time Mr. Littlejohn retired and Jocelyn Whiting took over. It has been a pleasure working with Jocelyn from the day I first met her. She has supported me through the planning of my father’s funeral in 2012, maintaining a pre-need account for my mother so we will have less to worry about when that dreaded time comes, as well as financially preparing for and planning my Aunt Naomi’s funeral arrangements in 2022. She also supported my cousins for their parents’ funerals in 2019 and 2023 respectively. Jocelyn consistently goes above and beyond what one would expect a funeral director to do. She has patiently advised, comforted, and even shopped for suitable burial clothes when we could not. Our loved ones all looked fabulous in their burial clothes and looked like they were sleeping peacefully no matter how much they had suffered before they passed. Planning my Aunt Naomi’s funeral was the most difficult for me emotionally, but Jocelyn was available to help me 24/7, even putting my needs above her personal plans. We held Aunt Naomi’s wake/viewing at Levy & Delany Funeral Home and Jocelyn took care of every detail, including a wonderful playlist of Gospel music that my family and I loved. Aunt Naomi wanted to be buried in Savannah, Georgia, where she was born and raised. Jocelyn took care of the holding and shipping of Aunt Naomi’s body, accommodating the delay I needed for the burial date. When I was overwhelmed by the legalities, Jocelyn also handled all the details with the funeral home and cemetery chosen for the burial in Georgia. Grief is something we all face at one time or another, but it can be emotionally exhausting. Jocelyn Whiting of Levy & Delany understands this well and works tirelessly to lighten the load of those who mourn. I am eternally grateful for how she comforts others in accordance with 2 Corinthians 1: 3-4.

My brother passed shockingly June 21, 2023. We live in NY and our mother lives in PA. It was tough on us all. Being very transparent my brother did not have life insurance. We started a GoFundMe to come up with the funds. While raising the money we began to call funeral homes. We started with the one we used for our grandparents and honestly in 3 years their prices have skyrocketed. We were left to hit Google. After a day or 2 of calling and comparing prices, my nephew came accross Levy & Delany. He spoke with Gary and passed the information along to the funeral home. Gary was so kind spirited from the jump and assured me I could call him anytime. He truly worked with our family! He got everything taken care of, and when we arrived he greeted us with open arms and immediatly consoled my mother. He was professional, caring and very observant to detail. My brother looked better in his final rest than he did the last time I saw him alive honestly. He looked exactly how I know he would've loved. He had a fresh haircut and shape up, his nails were clean & manicured and he was dressed sharply. We had an issue with his clothing and Gary took care of it with no hesitation. He provided roses for us to place over my brother and made the viewing so peaceful. Gary I want the world to know we thank you for everything you & the funeral home have done for us. You are a great man & we pray that God continues to bless you & bring more families to you! I know they will be in great hands!

Thank You,

My father Jose Nunez passed away unexpectedly on Feb 3rd 2023. My family and I had no idea what to do next. Every Funeral Home we spoke to was not helping us and we kept researching. I told my sister to research Funeral Homes online and right away Levy and Delany Funeral Home came up. It was like a sign from God. We called and felt so comfortable with Gary - the Funeral Director. Gary not only was patient with us but actually cared about our father and my family. He truly went above and beyond to ensure the service was in both English and Spanish. Anytime we had any questions, Gary would answer the phone right away and take care of anything we needed. I am truly grateful for everything they did. We had to rush my father out of the hospital and get him ready for service that same Saturday after his passing. Director Gary made a miracle happen by having the service on a Saturday when they were already fully booked. There are no Funeral Homes that do this kind of work. I will forever be grateful for this. The service was absolutely beautiful, and very organized. They provided a singer, a minister, prayer cards, and so much more to make this process as seamless as possible. Every step of the way, the Funeral Director Gary was there. He was like an angel; I truly believe that. I love the website and how people can send flowers, pictures, see the funeral service video and pay their respects. The work they are doing at Levy & Delany is truly God's work.

Thank you to everyone at Levy and Delany for all your patience and support. We greatly appreciate it.

Our father Ishmael Kennedy Sr. passed on Jan. 21, 2023. No one is ever prepared to face the loss of a loved one. It is an excruciating, life changing experience that we all have to travel through. The intense agony, distress, anguish, a sense of being lost and sadness are just a few words to describe the emotional rollercoaster you begin to ride during this time. My family and I were just visiting our father and telling him, "hang in there daddy it's going to be alright." Then, an hour later we get that call, "so sorry your father has just passed". Your thoughts begin to race -What do we do now? where do we go? who do we call? what do we do next? These were just a few of the questions that began to overpower our thoughts. And the answer to all our questions was with "Gary" and the staff at Levy & Delany Funeral Home. After we made the call, Gary stepped in like a caring family member, "Don't worry I'm here to take care of everything" and he guided and lead us through the entire process.
Gary stayed connected to us every moment. He checked in with us through phone conversations through the day. He was always very professional with an impeccable sense to detail and time. There was nothing but trust, confidence and peace as our father was being transported from NJ to his final resting place in Conn. From the deepest part of our hearts we would like to say, Thank You Gary, for always being so kind and understanding. You extended this calm and peaceful energy that transcended throughtout the entire difficult transition for us. The National Guard ceremony was also an amazing tribute to honor our fathers military service. Again, Thank You Levy & Delany Funeral Home and your entire staff for all the respect, perfection and beauty that was given and displayed in the presentation of our father and his Homegoing Service.
Sincerely Grateful,
Carla Kennedy-Williams

My sister Renee Hinton said it all. I felt the need to collaborate on my Sister's testimony to just say my personal thank you to Ms. Whiting and staff, you all are amazing. The love you provided to our family was outstanding ❤. It was worth the trip to travel from Brooklyn and Queens for your service. You helped make this transition easier to deal with, for ever grateful 🙏.

Ms Whiting is a God send. She is compassionate, professional, and was willing to help our family every step of the way. My mother, Carolyn Mason passed away in her sleep February 7, 2023. This was unexpected and took my family for a loop. Ms. Whiting guided us throughout this difficult time. She made my mother look like her beautiful self, Thank you so much Ms. Whiting. She even helped us get prayer cards for repast in 1 day after we had issues with someone else. I would highly recommend Levy & Delany because of the exceptional service our family received from Ms. Whiting. This funeral home will be our family's funeral home of choice. My mom looked exactly like herself at the viewing and after her cremation her ashes were handled with respect and dignity. My mom is at peace and our family is at peace because of the caring and support of Ms. Whiting and Levy & Delany Funeral Home

My Dad passed away after a brief illness and I was fortunate to find Levy & Delany after a google search. After speaking with Gary I knew this was the place for my Dad's homegoing. Gary is very compassionate, and knowledgeable and really understands the weight and burden of dealing with grief while planning a funeral. My Dad lost a lot of weight over the last 2 months of his life but at the viewing he looked like his normal handsome self. The entire experience was smooth from beginning to end (lovely minister and excellent singer) and my Dad was sent home with dignity. I highly recommend their services. Thanks Gary and Jocelyn.

I never imagined losing my Dad and I never thought of how losing him would impact my life. Death is the one thing that is guaranteed to everyone and yet it’s something that many don’t think about. We can prepare financially but there is no amount of planning for the rollercoaster of emotions. Levy & Delany showed up and showed out with an endless supply of support, attention, guidance and most importantly, Love. They not only delivered exceptional services they provided a level of comfort that my family and I didn’t even know we needed. They asked us to trust them during this time so that we were able to focus on the realization of the loss and grieve. They promised to deliver what we knew my Dad deserved and they did more than we could have even imagined. My family and I appreciate the level of professionalism that was displayed and thanks everyone there for making the moment much easier to bear. Gary, I must give you a special thank you because you were there to hold my mom when I wasn’t and I will forever be thankful to you for all that you have done.
